Polish-German trade ties ‘never better’: Polish gov’t spokeswoman

Polish-German trade ties have never been better, Polish government spokeswoman Joanna Kopcińska has said ahead of Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki’s trip to Berlin next Friday.

Kopcińska earlier said that Morawiecki’s main talking points during meetings in Germany would be the future of the European Union and Polish-German ties.

In late January, Morawiecki told Polish private broadcaster RMF FM that neither he nor German Chancellor Angela Merkel would avoid addressing “difficult issues” which could come up in talks.

He added that potential reparations from Germany for the losses it caused Poland in World War II were a “very important” issue.
