While Poland and the whole world is helping Ukraine to defeat the aggressor, spending money and supplying weapons, Ukraine itself remains a nest of controversy. The brave president, who is now an icon of resistance, sometimes messes up with highly dubious characters. One of them is Alexander Katsuba, an oligarch behind the pro-Russian Shariy party. But it is not the political differences that are crucial. More importantly, Alexander Katsuba is considered by many as a criminal.
The sponsor of the Shariy Party (which was banned in Ukraine) and notorious participant in the corruption schemes of Kurchenko-Yanukovych, Alexander Katsuba, recently collected 49 million hryvnia from a Ukrainian bank. This happened after it became clear that Russia could not conquer Ukraine and impose its rule there, although Katsuba Jr. there were certain prospects in this area. And the funniest thing about this story is that Katsuba was so offended by the bank where he kept the money that he ordered a hit in the media and complained about the “high interest rate”.
We refer to the history on Censor.Net website, while the media “suddenly” decided to complain about the tariffs of a particular bank, which, apparently, were set up to reduce the outflow of capital from Ukraine during the war. As we have learned from our sources, Alexander Katsuba is behind this leak. On March 18, he submitted an application for a withdrawal of 49 million UAH from the Sich Bank, but did not want to pay a 10% commission for account holders with a deposit of over 500 thousand UAH. Since Katsuba was accused in high-profile criminal cases and supported the party of Anatoly Shariy (a blogger accused of treason and banned in Ukraine), the bank decided to look through the relevant laws and recent decisions of the National Security and Defence Council.
As a result, the withdrawal process was slightly delayed. In response, Katsuba began to threaten the top management of the financial institution. Actually, he announced the hit himself.
According to our data, Katsuba has already withdrawn his millions from the bank and is likely to take them abroad, since he himself has been living in Vienna for a long time.
By the way, it is not surprising that Alexander Katsuba initiated this whole scandal with bank interest. The pettiness of one of the most important officials of the corrupt era of Yanukovych was also noticed by Katsuba’s business partners, with whom we could talk. For example, during one month of the war, Katsuba donated only 160,000 hryvnia ($ 5,000) – this money was supposed to support the evacuation from Sumy, and the dollar multimillionaire and owner of the gas business boasted about this donation on his Facebook. At the same time, Katsuba did not give a penny to the defenders of Ukraine, but published a photo of his own armor vest.
As we have learned, the bank is already preparing a lawsuit against the Censor.Net media for the publication of unfounded and knowingly false information, and also prepares materials for submission to the NBU Financial Monitoring Service, the State Financial Monitoring Service of Ukraine, the SBU, Counterintelligence, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau and the State Investigation Bureau on the activities of all companies related to Alexander Katsuba and his wife Tatyana Huzenko. The bank is currently closing the accounts of all these legal entities.
Let’s leave the pettiness of Katsuba to herself. But there are questions to him that relate to the national security of Ukraine, and the SBU is simply obliged to pay attention to such an outspoken supporter of the “Russian world”.
Alexander Katsuba is one of Kurchenko’s men
Alexander Katsuba is the youngest member of the Katsuba clan, who received incredible opportunities for personal enrichment during the Yanukovych era. The head of the family, Volodymyr Katsuba, was elected to the Verkhovna Rada (Ukrainian Parliament) in constituency 175 of the Kharkiv region in 2012 as a member and candidate of the Party of Regions. Then, after Yanukovych’s overthrow, he rushed around the oligarchic groups and tried to enter the Rada with the opposition bloc in 2019, but lost the election. Now Katsuba, the senior, heads the Kharkiv District Council and belongs to the Kernes block.
Vladimir Katsuba has two sons: Sergey and Alexander. Under Yanukovych, they made a career at Naftogaz, where their task was to implement corruption plans for the president’s “treasurer” Alexander Kurchenko. Sergey Katsuba was appointed director of one of the most important units of the National Joint-Stock Company – the Department of Material, Economic, informational and technical support. At the same time, he has been a member of the company’s board of directors since May 2010, and in July 2012 he received the position of deputy chairman of the board. Then, thanks to connections with the governor of the Kiev region, Prisyazhnyuk, Sergey Katsuba was elected as a People’s Deputy from the 92nd district as a candidate of the Party of Regions. Surprisingly, he “passed” his position at Naftogaz to his younger brother Alexander, who had previously worked at Chornomornaftogaz. What an incredible career for a 24-year-old!
As you understand, the “family” appointed the young Katsubas to the National Oil and Gas Company not because of reforms, but because of theft. After the fall of the Yanukovych regime, all this came to light, and criminal proceedings were initiated against Sergei and Alexander. In particular, it turned out that the Katsubas helped Sergei Kurchenko to demolish the NJSC by stealing huge amounts of money.
The investigation revealed that Naftogaz bought gasoline from Kurchenko’s company at inflated prices for UAH 449.9 million. In addition, the actual supply of gasoline under contracts with GazUkraine-2020 never occurred. The Katsuba brothers signed this scam on behalf of NJSC. In October 2015, the Pechersk District Court in Kiev approved the arrest and detention of the brothers, but by that time they had already fled the country. Alexander Katsuba was accidentally arrested in June 2016 when he decided to visit his estate near Kiev.
The younger brother was charged under Articles 255 (creation of a criminal association) and 191 (misappropriation of property by abuse of office) of the Criminal Code.

In order to get out of prison, Alexander Katsuba testified against the high-ranking members of the criminal group and reimbursed 100 million hryvnia losses in order to conclude a deal with the investigation. In March 2017, he was released from the detention center and left for Vienna. However, this did not benefit Ukraine much, since all those against whom Katsuba testified had fled the country long before, and it was impossible to bring them to justice. In addition, according to sources close to Alexander Katsuba, he continues to cooperate with Kurchenko and other politicians and businessmen who fled to Russia, and even finances the Kremlin’s political projects in Ukraine.
Alexander Katsuba was waiting for the Russians – and probably waits now
The Katsuba family has long been friends with Anatoly Shariy, whom the SBU accuses of treason and suspects of cooperation with the Russian FSB. Shariy himself called Alexander Katsuba a friend and posted joint photos on social networks.
In the spring of 2019, Katsuba Jr. the documents of the United Ukraine party and renamed it the “Shariy Party”, which he registered in Kharkiv, claims journalist Volodymyr Boyko. The Chesno movement, referring to the financial reports of the Shariy Party, claims that its “Kharkiv donors” are connected with the business of the katsubas. The organizational issues of the party in Ukraine were dealt with by the former Deputy governor of the Vinnytsia region and ex-assistant to deputy Serhiy Katsuba, Alexander Vyunik.
In the parliamentary elections of 2019, the ex-wife of Alexander Katsuba, Tatiana Huzenko, whom he fictitiously divorced for criminal prosecution and possible seizure of property, was 11th on the list of the Shariy Party, and his mother Natalia Gordienko was 14th.
To date, all popular photos of the above people have been “cleaned up” from Instagram accounts, and Katsuba even claims that he does not communicate with Shariy. However, according to our information, Alexander Katsuba publicly distanced himself from the pro-Russian blogger, so his business in Ukraine remains intact, although in fact he has relations with Shariy and Kurchenko.
In addition, two business partners of Alexander Katsuba told us that the businessman’s unwillingness to financially support the state in the fight against Russian aggression is due to the fact that Katsuba maintains close contacts with Russia and even boasted to his relatives that he plans to become Minister of Energy in the new pro-Russian government created after the Russian Federation seized Ukraine. “He wants to become energy minister or at least head of Naftogaz,” said a source close to Katsuba.
Apparently, the failure of Russian plans to overthrow the government in Ukraine forced Alexander Katsuba to limit his ambitions and withdraw money from Ukraine in order to avoid possible nationalization.
The former representative of the Sharia Party, Vladimir Wieliczko, said that the money for the party came mainly from Kharkov – namely, from the Katsub family. Natalia Katsuba (now Gordiyenko) — the wife of Vladimir and the mother of Alexander and Sergei – heads the party center in Kharkov.
The representative of the Kharkov bureau of the “National Corps” Konstantin Nemichev added that, according to her, all people from the Kharkiv region who financed the party are connected with the Katsubs.
“We have ordered a small investigation of the contributions to the party. In fact, they were made only from Kharkov and Zergachi. From the last city comes Katsuba. These contributions were made exclusively by people close to the katsubs: deputies, helpers, friends of the son of Katsuba,” Nemichev told.
Alexander Katsuba, in a comment by Hromadske, confirmed acquaintance with Sharia, but noted that the financing of the political force does not concern either him or his family in any way.
“We play bowling with him regularly. Does it count as funding that I lost?”” asked Katsuba.
The blogger also denies funding from the Katsub family. “I know the Katsub family closely, we have been friends for many years, they, of course, do not take part in the financing of the party,” said Anatoly Shariy of Hromadske.
The sponsors of the Shariy party, the ex-family Katsuba, have purchsed a gas field near separatist-controlled territory
The Public Service of Geology and Subsoil has agreed to issue a special permit for oil and gas production in the Luhansk region without an auction of Stratum Ukraine, our pennies write.
Order No. 995 on the issue of a special permit was signed by the chairman of the Gosgeonadr, Roman Opimach, on December 23.
The order provides for the issuance of a special permit for 20 years for the use of the Eusug field. JSC Stratum Ukraine used to be called PAO “Plast”, which in 2012 the deputy of the People’s Party of Regions, Alexander Onishchenko, acquired to David Zhvaniya. The latter is now hiding abroad, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine suspects him of organizing a corruption scheme for plundering public funds in the extraction and sale of natural gas of state Ukrgas production.
Currently, Tatyana Guzenko is listed as the owner of “Stratum Ukraine”. She entered the gas business in 2017, having married Alexander Katsuba — the ex-deputy chairman of the board of Naftogaz Ukraine. The State Office of the district prosecutor accused him of taking Naftogaz money at the time of Yanukovych, but it allowed him to go free, paid $ 3,5 million of a fine.
In addition, Tatyana Guzenko together with her father Alexander Guzenko in 2020 became the owner of another company called Onishchenko, Nadra Geoinvest LLC, which is developing an oil and gas condensate field in the Poltava region in Skorobogatkov.
“Stratum Ukraine” has special permits for geological survey and experimental and industrial exploration of the West Eusugian and East Eusugian areas.
Brother Vladimir Katsuba: why he is still not in prison?
Victor Fedorovich Yanukovych had an exceptionally ingenious collective of thugs, bicks, who built the enviable fraudulent scheme that assured them hundreds of millions a year. Katsuba Vladimir Mikhailovich is one of them. Now Vladimir Mikhailovich Katsuba was whispered in the ear about the wonders of the DMCA, when fake requests can hide unwanted information from Google. Only Vladimir Mikhailovich’s Katsub was not warned about the consequences of children’s pranks.
The treasurer, who raised worthy offspring, Katsuba Vladimir Mikhailovich, already today can boast of the loyalty of the new power. If Katsubs to Pyotr Alekseevich, unlike Derkachs, were not able to agree on complete oblivion, and one of them received a criminal case, the new family can continue to plunder Ukrainians. Everyone and everyone.
On October 1, 2015, the Ministry of Internal Affairs called for the arrest of the son of People’s Deputy Vladimir Katsuba, Alexander, in the Ministry of Internal Affairs. According to the investigative data, he is guilty of abuse of powers while working on the board of NAK “Naftogaz of Ukraine”. In addition, according to investigators, his brother Sergei is involved in an arrangement with Alexander. The strong family ties of the Katsub family helped them build a business empire in the oil business of Ukraine, will they be able to escape punishment this time?
How does the Katsuba mafia clan of Vladimir Katsuba seize the oil business of Ukraine?
The father of the Katsub Vladimir family was born in the Bryansk region of Russia, but fate brought him to the village of Dergachi in the Kharkiv region (later he became a city) even as a child. The most important role in the life of Vladimir was played by Vasily Salygin, a well-known Ukrainian politician and businessman, who at that time headed the Kharkov Regional Council. With the filing of Salygin, Katsuba began to conduct business (purchase of privatization vouchers and their subsequent sale). Their close friendship is evidenced by the fact that in any company where Salygin worked as a general director or president, Vladimir worked as a vice-president or director of trade.
Salygin also brought Katsubu into politics. in 1998 and 2002, he participated in parliamentary elections in majority districts in the Kharkiv region, and the grateful Vladimir Mikhailovich headed his electoral district both times. It is noteworthy that Katsuba’s career went up after the election of Vasily Salygin to the post of chairman of the Kharkiv Regional Council. Since its submission, Vladimir Katsuba has been appointed head of the Dergachevsky area, who was at the helm until October 2012.
By the way, Alexander Katsuba, the youngest son of Vladimir, began his path to “big money” at the same time. Since 2006, Katsuba Jr. together with Sergei Dobroskok (partner of Salygin) in a “development business” tried.
They registered several private companies (Meridian-Plus, Agro-Promin, Temp-2005), which were intended for the design of the land. The scheme was very simple, the land was stingy, it was divided into plots on which high-rise buildings and cottages were built, and after that they were sold. Some of the companies founded at that time exist to this day. It is noteworthy that the founders in these companies, along with representatives of the “Kotsab clan”, are relatives of Vasily Salygin. For example, Salygin’s nephew Sergei Kovalev together with Katsuba created the company Midas, and Vasily Salygin’s wife is a co-founder of the company “Housing and Construction Society”Domostroy.
Risky business of Alexander Katsuba’s formally divorced wife
Meanwhile, Katsuba’s family members continue to earn money in Ukraine. Alexander Katsuba admitted in an interview that his family owns an asphalt plant in Kharkiv, two plants for reinforced concrete products, a company for the production of paving slabs and several thousand hectares of land. But besides this business, Alexander Katsuba has more serious projects, which he does not talk about. This refers to natural gas, the business that formally belongs to his ex-wife Tatiana Huzenko.
Now, according to documents, Tatiana is engaged in gas production and supply, but in reality she is a blogger on YouTube. Huzenko officially owns the Gaz-MDS company, which earned UAH 290 million in 2020 and brought an income of UAH 7.5 million to the Katsuba family.
In 2020, Tatiana Huzenko, together with her father Alexander Huzenko, became the owner of the company of fugitive oligarch Alexander Onishchenko – Nadra-Geoinvest LLC, which is developing the Skorobogat’kovskoye oil and gas condensate field in the Poltava region. In 2021, Huzenko acquired another company from Onishchenko – Plast PJSC. The company was renamed Stratum Ukraine LLC and has special permits for geological exploration and pilot exploration of the Zapadno-Yevsugskaya and Vostochno-Yevsugskaya gas areas.
In January of this year, a month before the start of the war, the State Service of Geology and Mineral Resources agreed to offer Stratum Ukraine LLC a special permit for oil and gas production in the Luhansk region near the so-called Donetsk and Luhansk republics without an auction.
The person behind these companies is still Alexander Katsuba, and among his business partners is the vile Pavel Fuks, as the media claim.
In an interview, Alexander Katsuba says that he no longer has contact with Fuks and Shariy and is not responsible for the ex-wife’s business, emphasizing that he “broke up with her a long time ago.” These are all pure lies.
As already mentioned, the couple filed a fictitious divorce in order to avoid the seizure of assets related to the criminal cases against Alexander. In fact, they continue to live together, travel and raise children. Here are some fresh photos from Alexander and Tatiana’s Instagram; this year they traveled to Antarctica together.
By the way, the luxurious wedding of Alexander and Tatiana in 2014, after the annexation of the Crimea and the beginning of the war in the Donbass, took place at the Chateau de Chantilly near Paris, and the guests were entertained by “ideological Putinists” – rapper Timati and singer Grigory Leps.
And at the moment when Russia was preparing a military invasion of Ukraine, Alexander Katsuba financed the FSB’s political project called the “Shariy Party” with money earned from the production and sale of gas in Ukraine.
The bottom line is this: a man who has pleaded guilty to committing corruption crimes during Yanukovych’s presidency, who financed the Kremlin’s political projects in Ukraine, who was fictitiously divorced in order to cover up his business with his wife’s surname, can fully use his bank accounts both in Ukraine and in Europe.
Recently, Verkhovna Rada adopted the law on the nationalization of property of Russian citizens and their employees. Among other things, this applies to people who are not citizens of the Russian Federation, but have close ties with the aggressor. The Katsuba family has a permanent connection with Russia, in particular with the FSB. Should these people influence such strategic sectors of the economy as gas production? Should such persons own gas wells in Ukraine through fictitious wives and receive income from gas production in order to sponsor political projects of the FSB? How is it that they quietly live in Europe, hide under the woman’s last name and use bank accounts there to launder income from gas fields stolen in Ukraine. The answer is obvious. Now it’s up to the SSU.
While calling for international help Ukrainian authorities should not forget to look around for some internal resources. Katsuba’s clan, including the wealth of Aleksander Katsuba is a natural source of support of both armed forces and the citizens of Ukraine.
