Polish soldiers get raise

duda

Polish President Andrzej Duda has signed a bill giving the country’s soldiers a raise as of January 2017. The raise will be calculated on the average salary of soldiers. If the current base salary does not change, soldiers will receive a raise of PLN 380 (EUR 89).

“The previous average salary of soldiers was lower than the salary of other uniformed services. This [bill] is aimed precisely at levelling out the differences, and showing appreciation for the armed forces, whose role for the security of the country has increased immeasurably in the current international situation,” said Paweł Soloch, the head of the National Security Bureau.
