Poland is looking for opportunities to buy more heavy military equipment from South Korea, the foreign minister has said.
Zbigniew Rau made the announcement in an interview for the South Korean news agency Yonhap published on Friday, after his visit to the country this week.
“We’re looking for opportunities to buy heavy military equipment,” he said.
Poland is also expecting technology transfer from South Korea owing to increased military cooperation between the two countries, Rau added.
Last year, Poland purchased K2 main battle tanks, K9 self-propelled howitzers, Chunmoo rocket launchers and FA-50 light combat jets from South Korea in reaction to increased threats from Moscow after Russia invaded Ukraine, starting the biggest military conflict in Europe since World War Two.
