Man detonates explosive at Montenegrian court’s entrance, killing himself

A person detonated an explosive, presumably a hand grenade, at a court in Podgorica, the capital of Montenegro, on Friday. The perpetrator was killed and five people were injured, the country’s police reported.

The explosion occurred in front of the main entrance to the court at 11:35 a.m., police said, adding that they did not rule out suicide.

“As a result of the explosion, a 40-year-old Podgorica resident who activated the bomb was killed,” the services said, adding that “Police and other services are working at the scene, establishing the circumstances and securing the area.”

They also conveyed that those injured who were transported to a hospital probably did not suffer any life-threatening wounds.
