Poland’s CPI hits 17.2 pct y/y in January – stats office

Prices of consumer goods and services (Consumer Price Index, CPI) increased by 17.2 percent year on year and by 2.4 percent month on month in Jauary 2023, the Central Statistical Office (GUS) reported on Wednesday.

Economists polled by PAP Business estimated that January’s CPI would reach 17.7 percent year on year and 2.7 percent month on month.

In December 2022, the prices of consumer goods and services increased by 16.6 percent year on year and by 0.2 percent month on month.
