Mateusz Morawiecki, the Polish prime minister, has called on the German government to take action and send all kinds of weapons to Ukraine.

Poland has been piling the pressure on Germany recently to make it give Ukraine weapons, especially Leopard main battle tanks and Patriot missiles.

“We have been appealing for the deployment of Patriot batteries in Ukraine, and our voice has been heard,” Morawiecki said in Berlin on Monday, during a ceremony marking the 50th anniversary of the political activity of Wolfgang Schaueble, a CDU (Christian Democratic Union) politician and former Bundestag president.

“Kyiv’s defeat can become a prelude to a third world war,” Morawiecki said, adding that there was no reason today to block and infinitely delay supporting Kyiv.

“I am calling on the German government to take determined action and offer all kinds of weapons to Ukraine,” the Polish prime minister said.

Morawiecki added Ukrainians are fighting today not only for their own freedom but also in the defence of Europe.
