Snowboard: Kwiatkowski wins World Cup competition in Switzerland

Oskar Kwiatkowski won the FIS Snowboard World Cup competition in Scuol, Switzerland, on Saturday.

It is the first win of the 26-year-old Pole in the elite tournament. Before the Saturday event, Kwiatkowski’s greatest achievement was second place in Rogla, Slovenia, last year and also a silver medal in Scuol five years ago.

Thanks to the victory, the athlete moved up to second place in the general classification of the parallel giant slalom, having 174 points and losing 66 to the leading Andreas Prommegger from Austria. In the general classification of the World Cup in alpine snowboarding, the Pole is seventh.
