Bayern Munich ‘won’t sell’ Robert Lewandowski

Bayern Munich CEO Oliver Kahn has assured that the football club will not sell star player Robert Lewandowski this summer, despite media reporting otherwise. He stressed that the Polish player will remain in the team at least until the end of the contract, which runs until 2023.

Some media outlets recently reported that FC Barcelona is interested in hiring the captain of the Polish national team.

“It seems that there is a competition for who will write more nonsensical news about Lewandowski. We are not discussing the sale of a player who scores between 30 and 40 goals every season,” the head of the football club said on Tuesday night, shortly before the start of Bayern’s return match against Villarreal in the Champions League quarterfinals.

Robert Lewandowski was in the starting lineup of the match with Villarreal in Munich. Bayern tied 1:1 but was eliminated as they lost the first match of the two-match contest in Spain 0:1. The Polish striker scored the goal for Bayern.
