Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, over 156,000 refugees have entered Poland from that country, the Polish Border Guard has reported.

The Polish Border Guard wrote on Twitter on Sunday: “Since the start of the military operations in Ukraine on February 24, Border Guard officers have cleared 187,800 people at all border crossings with Ukraine, including more than 156,000 headed in the direction of Poland.”

“Yesterday, a record total of 88,400 people were cleared,” added the Border Guard.

On Thursday, after Russia’s attack on Ukraine, and following a decision of Poland’s Interior Ministry, the border services began to implement an assistance plan for refugees.
