Putin uses Odessa clashes for propaganda purposes in brazen address

Russian President Vladimir Putin has once again shown that he could not care less about the international law and commitments stemming from the treaties, signing a decree recognising the independence of the two Ukrainian breakaway regions: Luhansk and Donetsk.

Not for the first time, Putin points to the Ukrainian nationalists as the perpetrators of the fire in Odessa which saw 48 pro-Russian demonstrators killed. However, numerous investigations proved that it was the separatists who attacked first, yet the Kremlin propaganda states the opposite. Eight years on, the Moscow leader still uses it to fuel his propaganda machine.

Check out a couple of his quotes from an hour-long address, in which the Russian president once again tried to rewrite history.
