COVID-19: 23,990 new infections in Poland, active cases falling

The Health Ministry announced 23,990 new confirmed COVID-19 infections in Poland, increasing the total number of cases recorded in the country 5,519,282 including 622,935 still active. The number of active cases was 640,249 yesterday.

The ministry also announced 304 new fatalities – 68 from COVID-19 alone and 236 from COVID-19 and concurrent diseases. The death toll in the country rose to 109,509.

According to the ministry, a total of 272,350 people are quarantined and 4,786,838 have recovered from COVID-19 in the country so far. As it stands, there are still 622,935 active cases of the coronavirus in Poland.


Vaccinations in Poland

As of Friday, a total of 52,925,896 vaccine doses have been administered and 22,066,259 people have been fully vaccinated.

The number of occupied ventilators amounts to 1,024 out of 2,554 available.

As of Friday morning, as many as 420,597,131 coronavirus cases, 5,883,361 deaths and 344,603,767 recoveries have been confirmed worldwide.

The US remains the country with the largest number of confirmed coronavirus cases, amounting to 79,915,734. India has the second most with 42,780,235 cases and Brazil third with 27,941,476.
