COVID-19: 5,029 new infections in Poland, active cases decreasing

The Health Ministry announced 5,029 new confirmed COVID-19 infections in Poland, increasing the total number of cases recorded in the country to 4,054,865 including 378,204 still active. The number of active cases decreased from 392,077 yesterday.

The ministry also announced 38 new fatalities – 10 from COVID-19 alone and 28 from COVID-19 and concurrent diseases. This is the highest number during the fourth wave of the pandemic. The death toll in Poland increased to 94,365.

According to the ministry, 251,467 people are quarantined and 3,582,296 people have recovered from COVID-19 in the country so far. As it stands, there are still 378,204 active cases of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus in Poland.

As of Monday a total of 46,158,012 vaccine doses have been administered and 20,922,822 people have been fully vaccinated.



The number of occupied ventilators amounts to 2,069 out of 2,886 available.

As of Monday morning, as many as 280,378,747 coronavirus cases, 5,418,468 deaths and 250,487,180 recoveries have been confirmed worldwide.

The US remains the country with the largest number of confirmed coronavirus cases, amounting to 53,222,424, India has the second most with 34,793,333 cases and Brazil third with 22,239,436.
