
A highway patrol officer became an overnight hero after delivering the unborn baby deer when it found lying beside its dead mother and falling out of her split stomach following the fatal accident in Bielsko-Biała.

A policeman who delivered an unborn deer after its pregnant mother was hit by a car has been hailed a local hero.
Officers were called to the scene in Bielsko-Biała, Silesia, after receiving reports about a the fawn lying beside its dead mother after falling out of her split stomach following the fatal accident.

Arriving at the scene, the policemen found the dead deer lying in a ditch with her baby beside her still attached to its umbilical cord.
Calling a local vet for instructions on how to deal with a live birth, the unnamed officer then cut away the umbilical cord before turning the fawn over so it could cough up any foetal waters.

“As a result of the collision, the pregnant deer died and two young fell out of its torn belly. The police came first and tried to save them. Only one was saved.
“The baby is in a state that gives us hope, but unfortunately it has a broken leg.
“The next few hours will be critical. Awaiting us is the task of feeding her every two hours with goat’s colostrum. Keep your fingers crossed.”
Christening the baby deer ‘Eeyore’ the foundation later updated its post alongside a picture and short video of the animal peeking inquisitively out of a cardboard box.
The foundation added: “The baby is in a state that gives us hope, but unfortunately it has a broken leg. The next few hours will be critical. “She drunk all the colostrum given by Miss Ula and has a will to live. We can’t celebrate just yet as bringing up such a premature baby is still uncertain, but we are enjoying every second with her.”
Now the policeman who delivered the fawn has been proclaimed a hero, with people flooding social media with praise.
