COVID-19: 4,612 new infections in Poland, active cases falling

The Health Ministry announced 4,612 new confirmed COVID-19 infections in Poland, increasing the total number of cases recorded in the country to 2,803,233 including 214,197 still active. The number of active cases was 219,835 yesterday.

The ministry also announced 144 new fatalities, of which 35 were due to COVID-19 alone and 109 from COVID-19 and concurrent diseases. The death toll in Poland went up to 68,068.

According to the ministry, a total of 166,019 people are quarantined and 2,520,968 people have recovered from COVID-19 in the country so far. As it stands, there are still 214,197 active cases of the coronavirus in Poland.

A total of 11,877,060 people have been vaccinated so far, including 8,917,338 with the first dose and 2,959,722 with the second dose or the J&J vaccine.

The number of occupied ventilators amounts to 2,652 out of 4,265 available.

As of Sunday morning, as many as 152,856,506 coronavirus cases, 3,207,581 deaths and 130,149,202 recoveries have been confirmed worldwide.

The US remains the country with the largest number of confirmed coronavirus cases, amounting to 33,146,015. India has the second most with 19,557,457 cases and Brazil third with 14,725,975.
