COVID-19: 28,487 new cases in Poland

The Health Ministry announced 28,487 new confirmed COVID-19 infections in Poland, increasing the total number of cases recorded in the country to 2,528,006 including 362,803 still active. The number of active cases decreased from 366,344 yesterday.

The ministry also announced 768 new fatalities, of which 212 were due to COVID-19 alone and 556 from COVID-19 and concurrent diseases. The death toll in Poland went up to 57,427.

According to the ministry, 439,436 people are quarantined and 2,107,776 people have recovered from COVID-19 in the country so far. As it stands, there are still 362,803 active cases of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus in Poland.

A total of 7,263,426 people have been vaccinated so far, including 5,167,241 who have received one dose and 2,096,185 who have been inoculated twice.



The number of occupied ventilators amounts to 3,376 out of 4,326 available.

As of Friday morning, as many as 134,589,607 coronavirus cases, 2,916,827 deaths and 108,392,057 recoveries have been confirmed worldwide.

The US remains the country with the largest number of confirmed coronavirus cases, amounting to 31,717,404, Brazil has the second most with 13,286,324 cases and India third with 13,060,542.
