National Recovery Plan to mend post-pandemic damage

Resting on five pillars, the National Recovery Plan (KPO) constitutes the repair of the post-pandemic damage to the economy and society, as well as a strategy for making the economy resilient against future unforeseen circumstances, the PM’s Office (KPRM) reported.

The National Recovery Plan is a document that would provide a basis for the receipt of EU funds from the temporary Instrument for Recovery and Resilience designed to boost the recovery of the EU economy. The document earmarks funds for specific reforms, programmes and investments.

The five pillars of the plan comprise digital transformation, resilience and competitiveness of the economy, availability and quality of the healthcare system, green and intelligent mobility, green energy and a reduction in energy intensity.

The KPRM said that the money from the Recovery Fund would be invested in healthcare, the transformation towards a “green” economy, innovative solutions, environment-friendly transport and digital solutions.

It was stressed that by 2026, Poland would receive EUR 23.9 bn in a nonreturnable donation and EUR 34.2 bn in optional loans.
