Moody’s keeps Poland’s rating at A2, outlook stable

Ratings agency Moody’s has maintained its credit rating for Poland at A2 with a “stable” outlook.

The agency forecast that the Polish economy would expand 3.7 percent next year and that growth would be one of the highest in the region.

Moody’s said it expected Poland’s per-capita GDP to increase from 80 percent of the European average currently to 87 percent by 2022.

Poland’s finance ministry said earlier this week it expected the country’s economy to expand 4 percent this year, faster than anticipated in the country’s budget for 2019.

The ministry forecast, however, that Polish GDP growth would slow to 3.7 percent in 2020, 3.4 percent in 2021 and 3.3 percent in 2022.
