Average wages in Poland rose 7.5 percent in January compared with the same month a year earlier, the country’s Central Statistical Office said on Tuesday.

The average Polish monthly wage in January was PLN 4,931 (EUR 1,137, USD 1,282), the office reported.

Meanwhile, employment in Polish companies increased 2.9 percent last month in year-on-year terms, according to the statistical office.

The figures are for firms with more than nine employees.
