Poland’s ‘friendliest’ employers receive awards from president

Polish president Andrzej Duda handed over awards to the winners of this year’s Employee-friendly Employers competition at a ceremony held in Warsaw on Monday.

An elementary school in the southern city of Jędrzejów, municipal transport services in the central city of Płock and Polish State Railways (PKP) headquartered in Warsaw were among the 27 winners of the nationwide contest.

Some of the winning traits included favourable work conditions, dialogue-based management, investing in staff and stable employment.

The annual competition is organised by the Solidarity trade union, under the honorary patronage of the Polish president. Its goal is to promote employers who apply good practices in following labour laws, safety standards and the right to set up trade unions.
