Average wages in Poland rose 4.1 percent in April compared to the same month last year, the country’s Central Statistical Office said on Thursday.
The average Polish monthly salary in April was PLN 4,449 (EUR 1,053, USD 1,170).
Meanwhile, employment in Polish companies increased 4.6 percent year on year, according to the statistical office.
Przemysław Kwiecień, chief economist for the XTB brokerage, said the data confirmed that the Polish labour market was in good shape. He noted that salaries were growing faster than prices for consumers.
The Polish economy grew 4.0 percent in real terms year on year in the first quarter, the Central Statistical Office said earlier this week in a flash estimate, giving seasonally unadjusted figures.
