International IT workshop held in Warsaw

Some 50 people from Central Europe and Asia have taken part in Tech Camp, a two-day information technology workshop organised by the US State Departament in Warsaw, Polish Radio reports.

The participants, among them journalists, bloggers, marketing experts and activists, discussed access to new technologies and learned to verify the authenticity of information.

“Fake news, alternative facts, it’s a global phenomenon,” said Jacek Królikowski, the head of the Information Society Development Foundation, a co-organizer of the workshops.

He added: “It does not matter where the participants come from. Whether it is central Asia, countries of the Eastern Partnership, the Balkans. Everywhere these problems are the same. They are the same here in Poland and in the West, they are the same everywhere.”
