The Polish government will provide subsidies encouraging city authorities to buy electric buses from Poland’s Solaris Bus & Coach company, the Puls Biznesu daily has reported.

According to the daily, the government sees the company as an international pioneer in the production of electric buses, and wants to encourage Polish cities to buy such vehicles for use in public transport.

An electric bus is, on average, around twice as expensive as a traditional one, and the government subsidies will even out the price difference, the daily added.
