New Polish multiplex takes shape

All four new commercial TV channels on Poland’s eighth DTT multiplex will operational by December 2, BroadBandTv reported.

The first – Zoom TV, operated by Kino Polska Group and Piksel Foundation, established by the Polish Chamber of Electronic Communications (PIKE) – was officially launced at PIKE’s annual conference in Lodz on October 25.

It has since been confirmed that Polsat Media will act as an advertising broker for the channel, effective November 1.

The second channel, named Nowa TV and operated by ZPR Media, will officially make its debut on Wednesday, November 9.

Metro, which is operated by Agora’s Green Content, will launch on December 2, as will Wirtualne Polska’s WP1.

It still remains to be seen which channels the public broadcaster TVP will place in its three allocated slots on the multiplex.
