
The US Air Forces in Europe Band is billed in the Tatra resort of Zakopane, Wednesday. The concert marks the 10th anniversary of the cooperation agreement between the Tatra National Parks in Poland and Slovakia and the Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado. Polish Radio reports.
The programme of the concert, in the 700-seat hall of the Nosalowy Dwór Hotel, includes Gershwin’s ‘Rhapsody in Blue’, Broadway hits, jazz standards, swing and movie soundtracks.
On its current tour of Poland, the US Air Forces in Europe Band will also perform in the south-eastern town of Przemyśl (21 April) and the central city of Łodź (22 April).
The history of the band goes back to 1943. Since the 1950s the orchestra has performed regularly across the world, mainly in Europe, Africa and western Asia. It is stationed in the US Air Base in Ramstein, Germany.
