Poland detains man suspected of planning terror attack: report

Security services have detained a man suspected of planning a terrorist attack in Poland, the country’s PAP news agency reported on Monday.

Poland’s Internal Security Agency (ABW) detained the suspect in Radom, 100 kilometres south of Warsaw, on February 12, according to PAP.

Stanisław Żaryn, a spokesman for Poland’s security services chief, was cited by PAP as saying that searches produced “a number of pieces of evidence which indicate that [the suspect] collected information and raised funds that he intended to earmark for criminal activities of a terrorist character.”

The suspect was named only as “Daniel Ł.”
