Poland urges other participants of the international Pact with Iran to continue to work towards the goal of freeing the Middle East of nuclear weapons, said chief assistant to the President of Poland on Wednesday after the United States stopped the deal.
Polish presidential aide Krzysztof Szczerski said: “No one in either Europe or the United States wants a nuclear Iran … the question remains … which method will be the best to achieve … a Middle East free of nuclear weapons.”
US President Donald Trump on Tuesday said that the deal was “defective” and an “embarrassment to the United States”.
“The Iran Deal was one of the worst and most one-sided transactions the United States has ever entered into,” Trump said.
“In just a short period of time, the world’s leading sponsor of terror will be on the cusp of acquiring the world’s most dangerous weapons,” he added.
The Iran deal was signed in 2015 by Iran, China, France, Russia, the United Kingdom, the United States and Germany.
