New head for Warsaw bourse to be announced tomorrow

Antczak has over twenty years of experience in the field, having worked as chief economist at insurer PZU, as well as collaborated with the CASE think tank.

At present he serves on the board of Deloitte Consulting in Poland.

Outgoing stock-exchange CEO Małgorzata Zaleska was appointed early last year and has done some good work since then, according to public broadcaster TVP, which added the main task of her successor could be to encourage more Poles to invest on the stock market at a time when investment is increasingly seen as a driver of the economy.

In a previous reshuffle on 30 November, the government replaced three members of the company’s supervisory board, including its chairman. Wednesday’s meeting is expected to result in a further reshuffle on the supervisory board.

The stock-exchange is more than 50 percent controlled by the state.
