COVID-19: 9,073 new cases in Poland

The Health Ministry announced 9,073 new confirmed COVID-19 infections in Poland, increasing the total number of cases recorded in the country to 1,614,446 including 214,198 still active. The number of active cases increased from 209,466 yesterday.

The ministry also announced 273 new fatalities, of which 44 were due to COVID-19 alone and 229 from COVID-19 and concurrent diseases. The death toll in Poland went up to 41,582.

According to the ministry, 153,920 people are quarantined and 1,358,666 people have recovered from COVID-19 in the country so far. As it stands, there are still 214,198 active cases of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus in Poland.

A total of 2,384,794 people have been vaccinated so far.


The number of occupied ventilators amounts to 1,295 out of 2,627 available.

As of Thursday morning, as many as 110,496,412 coronavirus cases, 2,442,662 deaths and 85,391,493 recoveries have been confirmed worldwide.

The US remains the country with the largest number of confirmed coronavirus cases, amounting to 28,453,526, India has the second most with 10,950,201 cases and Brazil third with 9,979,276.
