COVID-19: 7,008 new cases in Poland

The Health Ministry announced 7,008 new confirmed COVID-19 infections in Poland, increasing the total number of cases recorded in the country to 1,570,658 including 206,380 still active. The number of active cases increased from 204,289 yesterday.

The ministry also announced 456 new fatalities, of which 95 were due to COVID-19 alone and 361 from COVID-19 and concurrent diseases. The death toll in Poland went up to 40,177.

According to the ministry, 144,541 people are quarantined and 1,324,101 people have recovered from COVID-19 in the country so far. As it stands, there are still 206,380 active cases of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus in Poland.

A total of 1,884,113 people have been vaccinated so far.


The number of occupied ventilators amounts to 1,267 out of 2,658 available.

As of Thursday morning, as many as 107,911,065 coronavirus cases, 2,366,795 deaths and 79,931,426 recoveries have been confirmed worldwide.

The US remains the country with the largest number of confirmed coronavirus cases, amounting to 27,897,214, India has the second most with 10,871,060 cases and Brazil third with 9,662,305.
