A Polish woman holding diplomatic immunity has been arrested in Russia and told to leave the country, the Polish foreign ministry said on Wednesday,
Lukasz Jasina, the ministry’s spokesperson, told the Polsat News channel that the woman held diplomatic immunity owing to her employment in an international organisation, and denied Russian claims that she was “a Polish diplomat.”
According to Russia’s Interfax agency, the woman was apprehended while receiving bribe money in return for preparing false documentation to avoid customs duty on imported alcohol.
Interfax said the woman was told to leave Russia within one week.
