Poland’s general government deficit will likely be lower in 2022 than the 4.7 percent of GDP the government has assumed in the budget law for next year, the central bank’s rate-setting body has said.

When preparing the state budget for next year, the government also included its updated expectations concerning key economic figures for the current year.

But according to the Monetary Policy Council (RPP), the government has made cautious assumptions for this year’s general government deficit.

In its opinion on the budget law released on Tuesday, RPP said that “the general government deficit will most likely fall between 3 and 4 percent of GDP.”
