President Andrzej Duda will attend the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II on Monday and will hold informal talks with the new British prime minister on Sunday, the President’s Office has said.
Duda will be hosted by Liz Truss, who was appointed as the new British prime minister on September 6, two days before Elizabeth II’s passing, at 10 Downing Street.
Over the weekend, Truss will also meet a number of other world leaders including President Joe Biden, according to Downing Street.
The meetings will be informal due to the official 10-day period of mourning in Britain, which means there will be no media access and reporters will not receive summaries of any discussions.
On Monday, the Polish president and his wife Agata Kornhauser-Duda will pay tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth II at the Palace of Westminster, the seat of the British Parliament, and will sign the book of condolences laid out at Lancaster House.
The Polish presidential couple will attend the funeral of the British monarch at Westminster Abbey in London.
Queen Elizabeth II died on September 8 at Balmoral after a 70-year reign.
From London, Duda will travel to New York for the 77th session of the UN General Assembly.
