Robert Lewandowski officially presented as Barça player

FC Barcelona has officially signed Polish striker Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich for a total reported fee of EUR 50 million, the two clubs said on Tuesday.

“FC Barcelona and Bayern Munich have arrived at an agreement for the transfer of Robert Lewandowski for a total of €45 million + €5 million in variables. The player will sign a contract with the Club for the next four seasons. The buyout clause has been set at €500 million,” the club’s official website wrote.

Lewandowski, who had 12 months remaining on his Bayern contract, moved to Barcelona after some disagreements with the German football club.

The disagreement between FC Bayern and Lewandowski arose in connection with a new contract – while the striker was demanding at least a two-year contract extension and a raise, the Munich club’s owners were only willing to offer him a one-year extension.

The 33-year-old has joined the team on their US pre-season tour where he completed his medical.

Welcome to the Club! 💙❤️

The club will present their new signing on Wednesday at noon (EDT) in Miami, Spanish media reported.

A golden goose

Lewandowski scored 344 goals for Bayern in 375 appearances.

He helped Bayern to eight Bundesliga titles in the last eight seasons, as well as three German Cups, and has just been crowned the league’s top scorer for the fifth season in a row after netting 35 goals in 34 Bundesliga games in 2021/22.

Oh, Robert … we’re excited, too 😉
