More reports of chemical weapons usage in Ukraine: Polish PM

“There are increasingly more reports confirming the use of chemical weapons in Ukraine,” Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said on Tuesday, adding that this was another line in Russia’s criminal activity, which Vladimir Putin and his colleagues had no hesitation in crossing.

He referred to the reports of Ukraine’s Deputy Defence Minister Hanna Malyar, who said on Tuesday that Ukraine had been checking unverified information that Russia might have used chemical weapons while besieging the southern Ukrainian port city of Mariupol.

“That is why what is needed now are far-reaching sanctions and arms deliveries to Ukraine,” Mr Morawiecki stressed.

According to the PM, the Kremlin regime can only be defeated by means of military operations and economic measures.

The West ‘will not bow’
“Russia’s economic defeat should be carried out by the free world, the EU, the US and all countries which understand that the violation of geopolitical principles and international law is a threat to peace, security and stable life,” the PM explained.

As he pointed out, “Russia must be aware of the fact that the West and the free world will neither bow to pressure nor blackmail.”

The Polish prime minister highlighted that severe sanctions on the country are only a small sacrifice for the West, while Ukraine has been sacrificing its blood “defending its sovereignty as well as the security of Poland and the EU’s eastern area.”
