In turn, Energoatom, the National Nuclear Energy Generating Company of Ukraine operating all nuclear energy power plants in Ukraine, wrote on Telegram that virtually all the offices at the Chernobyl power plant buildings had been severely damaged and their equipment had also been stolen.

The state-of-the-art analytical laboratory, which was worth EUR 6 million, was also destroyed and looted.

“It was a unique complex with powerful analytical capabilities and could provide services at any stage of radioactive waste management, as well as real-time research and technology development,” Energoatom stated.
