Russia intensifies information attacks against Poland: Sec official

“Russian information attacks against Poland are intensifying. Since the beginning of the outbreak of war against Ukraine, Russian propaganda has been specifically distributing messages designed to portray Poland as a provocateur escalating the situation in the region”, Stanisław Żaryn, director of the National Security Department wrote on social media on Monday.

The director of the National Security Department added that the attacks were designed to portray Poland as a “provocateur”.

“Poland is falsely accused of: warmongering, russophobia, wanting to attack and annex western Ukraine, dragging NATO into the war, being a liegeman of the US and UK and obstructing ‘the normalization’ of Western-Russian relations,” he added in a Twitter thread.

Mr Żaryn also pointed out that these actions were designed to weaken Polish security and isolate Poland from its allies.

“Russian actions have intensified during Russia’s ongoing war against Ukraine. The actions are aimed at permanently lowering the security of Poland and the entire eastern flank of NATO,” he stressed.
