TVP’s VOD streaming service will offer free-of-charge access to most popular Polish series produced by the national broadcaster.
Speaking of TVP’s new initiative, President of the Board Jacek Kurski listed what the national broadcaster had done so far in the face of the Russian Invasion of Ukraine:
“We provide the latest information about the sacrifices made by the Ukrainian army and people. Our correspondents are in Ukraine at all times, and they are on the frontline, no less. We are trying to help in any way possible. We co-organised two concerts: “Solidarni z Ukraine” [Solidarity with Ukraine] and the “Save Ukraine” global charity marathon. Our channels are broadcasting the UA1 channel of Ukrainian public television. In our “Podaj rękę Ukrainie” [Lend Ukraine a Hand] programme, we provide necessary and practical information to our neighbours who have found refuge in Poland. And starting today, our most popular TV series will be available on our VOD streaming service with Ukrainian translation. Our cultures are similar, so it is my great hope that it will make our Ukrainian friends happy. ”
TVP VOD streaming service is already offering children’s programmes with Ukrainian-language voiceover. The comedy and drama series which will now be made available with subtitles will be translated and made available as soon as possible.
Access to the TVP shows with Ukrainian subtitles will be free-of-charge.
