Putin won’t break Ukrainian spirit, president says

Andrzej Duda/Twitter

Russia’s invasion of Ukraine will not break the Ukrainian spirit, and the harder the Russians attack, the stauncher the Ukrainians’ resistance will be, Andrzej Duda, Poland’s president, wrote on Twitter.

Duda also wrote that Putin was mistaken if he believed Ukraine would cave in.

“Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin is very wrong if he thinks he will break the Ukrainian defenders’ spirit by destroying their homes and killing civilians,” Duda wrote.

“As (Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky – PAP) told me, every ruined building and every death from Russian shells only serves to boost the defenders’ resistance and the will to prevail,” he added.

Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24. Since the attack, 1,067,000 refugees from Ukraine – mostly Ukrainian nationals – have fled to Poland.
