French daily omits Poland among countries helping Ukraine

Leading French newspaper “Le Figaro” on Wednesday prepared a text describing countries that are helping Ukrainian refugees. Its original version omitted Poland and other Central European countries such as Slovakia and Hungary.

The article opened with information on French aid of EUR 300. Poland did not even appear on the map which illustrated the text, a map that would be music to the Kremlin’s ears.

The Polish embassy in Paris intervened on the matter.

In an updated version of the story, “Le Figaro” corrected its mistake and admitted that Poland is delivering humanitarian aid, helping refugees fleeing Russian aggression and giving Ukraine military aid.

However, the daily continued in the faux pas of failing to mention either Slovakia or Hungary as providers of humanitarian support.
