COVID-19: 29,229 new infections in Poland, active cases falling

The Health Ministry announced 29,229 new confirmed COVID-19 infections in Poland, increasing the total number of cases recorded in the country 5,495,315 including 640,249 still active. The number of active cases was 641,933 yesterday.

The ministry also announced 316 new fatalities – 87 from COVID-19 alone and 229 from COVID-19 and concurrent diseases. The death toll in the country rose to 109,205.

According to the ministry, a total of 286,453 people are quarantined and 4,745,861 have recovered from COVID-19 in the country so far. As it stands, there are still 640,249 active cases of the coronavirus in Poland.

Vaccinations in Poland

As of Thursday, a total of 52,861,561 vaccine doses have been administered and 22,048,333 people have been fully vaccinated.

The number of occupied ventilators amounts to 1,067 out of 2,569 available.

COVID-19 global data

As of Thursday morning, as many as 418,640,833 coronavirus cases, 5,871,161 deaths and 342,103,720 recoveries have been confirmed worldwide.

The US remains the country with the largest number of confirmed coronavirus cases, amounting to 79,808,643. India has the second most with 42,754,315 cases and Brazil third with 27,812,210.
