COVID-19: 57,262 new infections in Poland, active cases increasing

The Health Ministry announced 57,262 new confirmed COVID-19 infections in Poland, increasing the total number of cases recorded in the country to 4,752,700 including 742,017 still active. The number of active cases increased from 709,875 yesterday.

The ministry also announced 271 new fatalities – 85 from COVID-19 alone and 186 from COVID-19 and concurrent diseases. The death toll in Poland increased to 104,907.

According to the ministry, 1,068,384 people are quarantined and 3,905,776 people have recovered from COVID-19 in the country so far. As it stands, there are still 742,017 active cases of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus in Poland.

As of Friday a total of 51,254,788 vaccine doses have been administered and 21,675,140 people have been fully vaccinated.



The number of occupied ventilators amounts to 1,074 out of 2,710 available.

As of Friday morning, as many as 367,189,421 coronavirus cases, 5,658,044 deaths and 290,436,151 recoveries have been confirmed worldwide.

The US remains the country with the largest number of confirmed coronavirus cases, amounting to 74,695,333, India has the second most with 40,622,709 cases and Brazil third with 24,782,922.
