COVID-19: 11,406 new infections in Poland, active cases increasing

The Health Ministry announced 11,406 new confirmed COVID-19 infections in Poland, increasing the total number of cases recorded in the country to 4,232,386 including 394,335 still active. The number of active cases increased from 386,885 yesterday.

The ministry also announced 493 new fatalities – 173 from COVID-19 alone and 320 from COVID-19 and concurrent diseases. This is the highest number during the fourth wave of the pandemic. The death toll in Poland increased to 100,254.

According to the ministry, 167,062 people are quarantined and 3,737,797 people have recovered from COVID-19 in the country so far. As it stands, there are still 394,335 active cases of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus in Poland.

As of Tuesday a total of 48,394,222 vaccine doses have been administered and 21,276,912 people have been fully vaccinated.



The number of occupied ventilators amounts to 1,737 out of 2,803 available.

As of Tuesday morning, as many as 311,276,893 coronavirus cases, 5,514,058 deaths and 260,832,202 recoveries have been confirmed worldwide.

The US remains the country with the largest number of confirmed coronavirus cases, amounting to 62,661,272, India has the second most with 35,875,790 cases and Brazil third with 22,558,695.
