The Health Ministry announced 2,525 new confirmed COVID-19 infections in Poland, increasing the total number of cases recorded in the country to 2,805,756 including 207,807 still active. The number of active cases decreased from 214,197 yesterday.
The ministry also announced 37 new fatalities, of which 14 were due to COVID-19 alone and 23 from COVID-19 and concurrent diseases. The death toll in Poland went up to 68,105.
According to the ministry, 141,992 people are quarantined and 2,529,844 people have recovered from COVID-19 in the country so far. As it stands, there are still 207,807 active cases of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus in Poland.
As of May 2, a total of 11,877,070 people have been vaccinated, including 8,917,338 with the first dose and 2,959,722 with the second dose or the J&J vaccine. Due to technical issues the Health Ministry has not published today’s vaccination data yet.
The number of occupied ventilators amounts to 2,593 out of 4,248 available.
As of Monday morning, as many as 153,524,738 coronavirus cases, 3,217,179 deaths and 130,880,827 recoveries have been confirmed worldwide.
The US remains the country with the largest number of confirmed coronavirus cases, amounting to 33,180,441, India has the second most with 19,925,604 cases and Brazil third with 14,754,910.
