COVID-19: 6,796 new cases in Poland

The Health Ministry announced 6,796 new confirmed COVID-19 infections in Poland, increasing the total number of cases recorded in the country to 2,792,142 including 227,830 still active. The number of active cases decreased from 234,500 yesterday.

The ministry also announced 429 new fatalities, of which 129 were due to COVID-19 alone and 300 from COVID-19 and concurrent diseases. The death toll in Poland went up to 67,502.

According to the ministry, 197,693 people are quarantined and 2,496,810 people have recovered from COVID-19 in the country so far. As it stands, there are still 227,830 active cases of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus in Poland. 13,565 people recovered today.

A total of 11,470,800 people have been vaccinated so far, including 8,597,875 with the first dose and 2,872,925 with the second dose or the J&J vaccine.

The number of occupied ventilators amounts to 2,831 out of 4,405 available.

As of Friday morning, as many as 151,186,029 coronavirus cases, 3,181,059 deaths and 128,606,239 recoveries have been confirmed worldwide.

The US remains the country with the largest number of confirmed coronavirus cases, amounting to 33,044,068, India has the second most with 18,762,976 cases and Brazil third with 14,592,886.
