‘Solidarity’ is not empty slogan: PM on Solidarity Convoy for Seniors Support

This week, as part of the Solidarity Convoy for Seniors Support, 35 trucks will provide 800 tons of food for almost half a million people in need. “Solidarity is not an empty slogan in the Polish language, but a concept that carries many values,” Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki stressed.

“Each such package is a harbinger of hope, because someone thinks about someone, someone remembers someone. These people are not left to themselves. That is why I would like to thank everyone so much for this gift of heart,” Mr Morawiecki said.

The Prime Minister pointed out that this campaign was launched many months ago and thanked the people involved in it – the minister of family and social policy, Marlena Maląg, the president of the Governmental Agency for Strategic Reserves, Michał Kuczmierowski, and the volunteers.

“They need help because they are older, weaker, often ill, defenceless,” said Mateusz Morawiecki, referring to dozens of volunteers throughout the country.

The Prime Minister emphasised that the upcoming Easter is a “holiday of hope” and that this “spark of hope” is being given by the Solidarity Corps of Seniors Support.
