COVID-19: Record-breaking 35,251 new cases in Poland

The Health Ministry announced a record-breaking 35,251 new confirmed COVID-19 infections in Poland, increasing the total number of cases recorded in the country to 2,356,970 including 421,126 still active. The number of active cases increased from 406,747 yesterday.

The ministry also announced 621 new fatalities, of which 130 were due to COVID-19 alone and 491 from COVID-19 and concurrent diseases. The death toll in Poland went up to 53,665.

According to the ministry, 468,310 people are quarantined and 1,882,179 people have recovered from COVID-19 in the country so far. As it stands, there are still 421,126 active cases of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus in Poland.

A total of 6,081,824 people have been vaccinated so far, including 4,062,784 who have received one dose and 2,019,040 who have been inoculated twice.



The number of occupied ventilators amounts to 3,143 out of 4,013 available.

As of Thursday morning, as many as 129,525,120 coronavirus cases, 2,829,499 deaths and 104,479,085 recoveries have been confirmed worldwide.

The US remains the country with the largest number of confirmed coronavirus cases, amounting to 31,166,344, Brazil has the second most with 12,753,258 cases and India third with 12,221,665.
