Over 200 foreign doctors who can help Poland fight the Covid pandemic have applied to work in the country, the health minister said on Friday.

Adam Niedzielski could not provide the exact number of permits issued by the Health Ministry, but, he said over 200 doctors had applied and that “it will also be a very real contribution to our system of fighting Covid”.

The minister said that work was being carried out on how to make it easier for foreign staff to find work in Poland.

He added that while some of those who had applied were specialists in fields unrelated to the pandemic they “will certainly be directed to fight Covid”
