Today’s results leave no doubt as to the development of the pandemic in Poland, unfortunately, dark scenarios are materialising in other provinces, Wojciech Andrusiewicz, the spokesman for the Health Ministry said on Wednesday.
COVID-19: 25,052 new cases in Poland
The Health Ministry announced another 25,052 SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus infections and 453 deaths on Wednesday. Most cases were recorded in Mazowieckie (4,142) and Śląskie (4,030) provinces.
“Today’s results leave no doubt as to the development of the epidemic in Poland. We are following a path of a fairly fast increase in cases. Unfortunately, black scenarios are happening in more provinces,” Mr Andrusiewicz emphasised. He pointed out that the increasing scale of infections is currently followed by increases in the number of deaths.
“At the moment, arrangements between the Minister of Health, Adam Niedzielski, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and the government crisis management team regarding further urgent action is underway,” the spokesman for the Health Ministry said.
He added that a conference by the Health Minister on the current pandemic situation is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon.
Since March 4, 2020, when the first case of SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus was detected in Poland, there have been 1,956,974 confirmed infections, 48,032 of whom have died.
