COVID-19: We will continue supporting most damaged industries: PM

“We must continue to help the most severely damaged industries. We will also try to support them after the pandemic,” Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki announced on Friday.

The Head of Government emphasised that in the face of the growing third wave of the pandemic, new funds should be allocated to support jobs and to save Polish entrepreneurs.

Mateusz Morawiecki said that now the most important thing is to “preserve the value of the Polish economy.” “I am convinced that we will preserve this… together with employees and entrepreneurs,” he stressed.

“Thanks to this… we will be ready for a [economic] leap,” he pointed out.

“We must continue to help the most severely damaged industries. And that is why I decided to allocate another billions of zlotys in March to support those industries that are struggling,” said Mr Morawiecki, adding that the government will continue supporting them also after the pandemic.

According to the Prime Minister, in March the government will allocate additional PLN 4.5 billion (EUR 1 billion) to support companies affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, and will additionally cancel the repayment of last year’s aid for about 50 types of activities.
